The Communication Group plc supported Somabay, the 5* destination in Egypt, with arrangements for World Travel Market (WTM) which took place from 4-6 November 2019. Ahead of the show, we secured key media, influencer and trade appointments for Somabay representatives.
WTM enabled Somabay to share key news and updates with the trade and media, while press trip opportunities were also discussed for 2020, with many expressing interest in visiting the destination, particurarly given the wider Sharm el Sheikh travel ban has now been lifted. A key focus of the show was to raise awareness of the measures Somabay is taking to attract tourists to the destination, the upcoming Mesca brand and new golf developments.
Ahead of the show, The Communication Group also liaised extensively with key travel trade publications to discuss WTM coverage opportunities. As a direct result of this, we secured an interview opportunity for CEO, Ibrahim El Missiri in the WTM Day 2 issue of TTG (circulation 16,698). We also secured an additional piece of coverage in TTG Day 2 issue, announcing our on-stand business card draw; as well as pre-show coverage in Travel Weekly (circulation 15,362) and Travel Bulletin (circulation 6,177).
