The Communication Group plc is delighted to announce the launch of the Building Beauty Awards, a new award scheme by the Royal Fine Art Commission Trust which aims to promote beauty in UK buildings and streets.
The awards have been created to celebrate buildings, engineering structures and urban landscaping schemes that add beauty to our environment. With a judging panel headed up by Stephen Bayley Hon FRIBA, who is one of Britain’s foremost design critics, he will be joined by architectural commentator Paul Finch OBE, architectural writer Clive Aslet and cultural historian Kassia St Clair, with more judges due to be announced in the coming months.
The architect or designer of the winning building will receive a £10,000 prize, as well as being invited to assist with selecting the recipients of the new Building Beauty Grants, which are aimed at promoting small beautification projects. The awards are being sponsored by leading property developer Ballymore Group.
