Leading multi-use property developer Rockwell recently held an inauguration ceremony for a new weatherproof play area donated to Fulham-based children’s charity Sands End Associated Projects in Action (SEAPIA).
SEAPIA is a key pillar of the local Fulham community, providing an inclusive, affordable, and safe environment for children and young people aged 4-14 from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Sands End area. SEAPIA had long wanted to create an outdoor play area that would protect the children from bad weather, but a lack of funding had delayed these plans. When Rockwell heard about SEAPIA’s plans and the importance of this charity to the community local to their development, Hurlingham Waterfront, they began the ‘SEAPIA Outdoor Classroom Project’.
An inauguration ceremony at SEAPIA brought together the local community, including some of the 200 children supported by SEAPIA, their parents, local residents, and charity leaders. Also present was Deputy Leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council, Councillor Ben Coleman, who cut the ceremonial ribbon, marking official completion of the project and the opening of the play area, much to the delight of the children and all those present. The new play area will make an important difference to the children supported by SEAPIA, allowing them to continue to play outside in the winter months.
The Communication Group plc assisted in all aspects of coordinating the inauguration ceremony, from conception to completion, securing the attendance of important local leaders and ensuring the event ran smoothly.
