EcoWorld Ballymore recently launched Wardian London – a new riverside development located moments from Canary Wharf. The scheme takes its name from the traditional Wardian Cases used to transport rare botanical plants around the world, integrating indoor and outdoor living to create a tranquil oasis at the heart of Europe’s leading financial district.
For the launch, the Design Cube at Ballymore has been transformed into the Wardian London marketing suite – a tropical oasis filled with botanical trees and plants – with private boat tours to and from the site. EcoWorld Ballymore teamed up with Wallpaper* – the world’s number one design magazine – to create a bespoke ‘Wardian’ glasshouse installation, in conjunction with landscape architects Camlins; which was unveiled at an exclusive event at the Design Cube during London Design Festival.
The ‘Wardian’ glasshouse installation went on to play host to premium botanical gin brand Bombay Sapphire’s Winter pop-up in November, where members of the public were invited to embark on a series of guided botanical journeys within the case and enjoy Wardian-themed botanical cocktails amongst the plants.
