Ballymore triumphed at the prestigious Resi Awards, walking away with the coveted Large Developer of the Year, trumping five major national competitors. The Communication Group plc assisted with preparing the entry for this award. The award win was a testimony to Ballymore’s outstanding year, during which the company secured a joint venture with EcoWorld to help fund three prominent schemes at London City Island, Embassy Gardens and Wardian London, continued to progress its development pipeline, furthered its commitments to regeneration and placemaking and unveiled a complete company rebrand. One of Ballymore’s major successes in 2015 was securing the EcoWorld Ballymore JV following a lengthy global marketing campaign. The resulting partnership represented a £428m land transaction, raising £1.54bn development finance and totalling c.2,800 units, making the JV a top five London developer overnight.
The judges praised Ballymore for ‘Standout financials and exceptional marketing and design” which they said, set them apart from their competitors. Ballymore beat Essential Living, Hill, Redrow Homes, Telford and The Berkeley Group to take the award. Gyles Brandreth, former Tory MP and now broadcaster and writer, announced the winners at the sold-out awards dinner, attended by more than 1,200 guests from the property world.
