Kebony, the global leader in the production of sustainably-sourced wood, has been recognised as one of the international winners at the BLT Built Design Awards 2023.
An honouree in the ‘Residential Architecture’ category, the Raintree House in Nosara, Costa Rica, is a stunning new private residence inspired by healthy bioclimatic architecture. Kebony wood cladding was selected as the exterior solution for this rainforest home, delivering the aesthetic and structural benefits of hardwood timber whilst upholding the eco-conscious ethos of the project, in this unique jungle sanctuary.
Producing the most sustainable and long-lasting alternative to tropical hardwoods, Kebony continues to divert the need for deforestation of the planet’s carbon sinks, like the Amazon.
The Communication Group plc co-ordinated the entry, in collaboration with Kebony and Studio Saxe, the architects for the Raintree House. This award represents Kebony’s second success at the BLT Built Design Awards in recent years, following receipt of the ‘Construction Product of the Year’ prize in 2021.
