Recently, international human rights foundation Global Rights Compliance was featured in a front page article in leading US title, The New York Times, following the release of its report revealing first-hand testimonies from North Koreans in Russia.
The article uncovers the brutal exploitation of North Koreans during the rule of Kim Jong-un, both at home and abroad. Among the experiences told is that of North Korean workers in Russia, who work excessive hours with constant surveillance and live in horrific conditions, as revealed in Global Right’s Compliance’s report, ‘A Day in the Life of a DPRK State-sponsored Labourer in St. Petersburg, Russia’.
The article follows the recent publication of a report released by the Multilateral Sanctions Monitoring Team, which exposes the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) $800m overseas labour programme funding unlawful nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs, drawing upon evidence from Global Rights Compliance.
The Communication Group supported Global Rights Compliance with a tailored media campaign focusing on the report launch, coordinating multiple interviews, including with The New York Times, Deutsche Welle’s ‘Inside Europe’ podcast, ABC Radio National, and securing top target coverage in The Times, The Independent and Fox News.
