Sarah Singlehurst, Co-Founder of leading London flexible office provider Office Space in Town (OSiT), recently spoke to the Daily Mail, as London’s office workers opted to come into air-conditioned offices instead of sweltering home workspaces, as the UK was once again hit by a heatwave.
Between Monday 22nd June and Friday 3rd July 2026, when a “red alert” heatwave warning was officially recorded over three consecutive working days in the capital, OSiT witnessed a 75% increase in office attendance across its five London locations, compared to the previous two-week period.
Sarah Singlehurst said one of the reasons driving the recent spike in office footfall has been people seeking fully air-conditioned work environments in favour of unbearable temperatures at home.
