Blessed with the surrounding natural beauty of two National Parks, a sensitively and sustainably designed new and unique family home, located in the heart of Hampshire was completed in early 2020. The collaboration between the homeowner – famous illustrator and artist, Jennie Maizels, and award-winning Snug Architects, combines bold interior design with an elegant facade built with Kebony, a global leader in the production of sustainable modified wood, which was used to clad the entire house.
Characterised by a contextual modern design, Kebony wood carefully blends with the home’s verdant countryside surrounding to create a beautiful family home befitting of its idyllic location. The distinctive wood serves not only to ensure sustainability and eco-living was prioritised in construction, but also to provide a special aesthetic style which will see the elegant wooden facade develop a unique silver-grey patina over time, echoing the silver tones of the surrounding birch trees and contributing to the stylish, clean exterior design of the property.
On behalf of Kebony, The Communication Group plc promoted this truly innovative house, which has become a beacon for the homeowner’s creative vision, and subsequently shortlisted in this year’s Structural Timber Awards.
