Recently, Globetrotter TV visited Somabay on a filming trip for a destination-focused episode which will showcase the best of Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera to a global audience across Amazon Prime Video and Sky TV.
During the trip, the team stayed at The Cascades Golf Resort, Spa & Thalasso, which sits at the highest point of Somabay’s peninsula, and were immersed in the destination through a carefully crafted itinerary over the course of five days. The episode will follow Presenter Liu Batchelor as she learns to kitesurf with the help of the 7BFT Kitehouse team, highlighting the exceptional conditions which make Somabay one of the world’s top three kitesurfing destinations.
Outside of her kitesurfing sessions, Liu will also be seen enjoying the best of the destination’s lifestyle offering, with highlights including snorkelling in the Red Sea, attempting the hole-in-one island challenge, an Aqua Tonic treatment at The Cascades Spa & Thalasso, and a beach club experience at Wyte Beach Club. During the trip Liu had the opportunity to meet with a number of key spokespeople from across the destination, including CEO Ibrahim El Missiri, conversations which highlight the growing offering at Somabay and what makes it such a unique holiday location.
The Communication Group plc supported on all elements of the trip, from helping to curate an itinerary which showcased the best of the destination to managing logistics on the ground. The filming creates an opportunity to showcase Somabay to a broad global audience, with the aim of creating wider brand awareness for the destination, with the episode due to be broadcast in Q1 of 2025.
