The Communication Group plc is pleased to announce the renewal of its contract with international human rights foundation Global Rights Compliance (GRC), extending the partnership that has been in place since November 2022.
GRC investigates and documents war crimes across the world, including Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Yemen, with major focuses on conflict-related sexual violence and the use of starvation as a weapon of war. GRC is supporting Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General with the creation of specialist ‘Mobile Justice Teams’ which document evidence, build successful cases against Russian perpetrators, and achieve justice for victims of horrific war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The Communication Group plc has been advising GRC since November 2022. Core activity has included uncovering the Kherson detention centres in 2023, where Ukrainian prisoners were subject to widespread torture and sexual violence. Additional work has been carried out on behalf of GRC’s Starvation Mobile Justice Team includes launching the groundbreaking report on the siege of Mariupol ‘The Hope Left Us’, and the world-first investigation into Russia’s pillaging of Ukrainian grain ‘Weaponised Agriculture’.
GRC’s work extends beyond the battlegrounds of Ukraine and has recently included an investigation into the Russian and Belarusian athletes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics and a report released by GRC’s Business & Human Rights team revealing gross failings by global high street brands to uphold labour rights in Pakistan.
The Communication Group has strategically supported GRC by creating tailored media campaigns which has resulted in over 1000 pieces of coverage secured across the world’s largest media outlets. The team look forward to another year of close collaboration with GRC.
