The Sunday Times recently reported on Global Rights Compliance’s (GRC) latest report, “Harvesting Conflict,” which sheds light on Russia’s strategic attacks on Ukraine’s grain infrastructure and its deliberate use of hunger as a weapon of war.
The article, following an interview with Dominic Lawson and Kyiv-based Legal Advisor at Global Rights Compliance, Olha Matskiv, examines the report’s findings which expose Russia’s systematic campaign to destroy Ukraine as a global agricultural powerhouse. The piece draws a historical parallel to the Holodomor famine of the 1930’s, underscoring how current events are reviving collective trauma for Ukrainians.
This report, produced by GRC’s Starvation Mobile Justice Team, documents how over 101,000 square metres of Ukrainian grain storage has been damged by Russian forces, and key port infrastructure facilities have been targeted by Russia since July 2023.
The Communication Group plc designed and implemented a bespoke media awareness campaign to spotlight the report and its findings, securing national print and online media coverage in The Times among other national publications, and helping raise GRC’s corporate profile and drive further funding.
