Embassy Gardens Hosts The Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s ‘Float To Live’ Campaign Launch

Recently, Embassy Gardens, the new riverside district in Nine Elms, hosted an exclusive event in collaboration with sailing and outdoor apparel brand Helly Hansen, and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), in the world-famous Sky Pool. The event marked the launch of the RNLI’s ‘Float To Live’ water safety campaign, to raise awareness about lifesaving water skills in emergency situations, and saw a select number of media guests take part in a unique water masterclass.

RNLI lifeguards took to the iconic Sky Pool, spanning 15 metres between two buildings at Embassy Gardens, to lead a step-by-step demonstration of the vital survival skill ‘Float To Live’. The campaign advises people to float on the surface of water in the event of an emergency, to gather the composure and energy needed to safely signal for help. Fifteen media guests from a range of national and consumer publications, including The Telegraph, The Guardian, City AM, Metro, Women’s Health, and National Geographic Traveller, took part in the exercise, followed by Q&A sessions with Helly Hansen and RNLI representatives.

Coverage of the event was secured in a number of UK national and regional print titles, alongside live broadcast coverage on BBC Breakfast, shot on location at the Sky Pool.

The Communication Group supported on all aspects of the event, which helped raise awareness of important water safety skills as well as showcase the iconic Sky Pool.
