Somabay Sponsors Golf Travel Centre’s Inaugural UK Influencer Day

Recently, The Communication Group plc supported Somabay with its sponsorship of Golf Travel Centre’s inaugural influencer invitational day at Carden Park, with the aim of showcasing Somabay as a leading golfing destination to a golf-loving audience with a significant combined following.

On the day, 100 influencers and key figures from the golfing world were grouped together in four-balls by Golf Travel Centre, making their way around Carden Park’s Cheshire Course. The Communication Group plc representatives were stationed at the 18th hole, where Somabay- and The Cascades Golf Resort, Spa & Thalasso-branded flags were on display to maximise exposure for the destination. A longest drive challenge was also held on the hole, with the winner within each four-ball receiving a sleeve of Somabay-branded golf balls to encourage engagement.

Following the tournament, attendees were welcomed into a BBQ area in the clubhouse, which Somabay was the sponsor of. A destination video was played on the room’s screen, with Somabay Golf bucket hats also being distributed throughout the room as an additional brand touchpoint. Each table also had a Somabay-branded table tent with a QR code which attendees could scan to enter a competition to be in with the chance of winning a trip to Somabay, while an additional stay at the destination was the prize for the runners up of the main tournament, with the prizes being won by renowned golf professionals with significant followings, generating an opportunity to host several key golfing figures at the destination following the event.

The sponsorship of the event was a great success, resulting in significant interest from attendees in visiting the destination, as well as generating social media exposure for Somabay on several attendees’ channels. The Communication Group plc supported with all aspects of the event, from planning and logistics to attendance on the day.
