Patrick Chalhoub, CEO of the Chalhoub Group, delivered the keynote speech at a ‘Luxury in the Middle East’ seminar at Brown’s Hotel, Mayfair, hosted in collaboration with Walpole.
The Chalhoub Group, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, is a leading figure in luxury trade to the Middle East, specialising in the fashion, beauty and gift sectors.
Speaking alongside a panel of leaders in luxury, including Thomas Pink’s President and CEO Jonathan Heilbron, Mr Chalhoub urged delegates to adopt an ultra-personal approach to doing business in the region. Through the address, Mr Chalhoub shared his own personal insights of how best to appeal to Middle Eastern markets and also on engaging with visitors to the UK from the region, with these messages echoed by his fellow speakers on the panel.
The seminar explored challenges in negotiating the consumer environment of the Middle East and its often turbulent nature by highlighting the importance of developing better trading practices tailored to the Middle Eastern consumers. To this end, Mr Chalhoub also stressed the importance of maintaining a presence throughout the region in spite of its instability.
The Chalhoub Group recently launched its new website, which can be viewed atwww.chalhoubgroup.com.
