The Communication Group plc has been appointed by the oldest French restaurant, L’Escargot to help the well-loved Soho establishment to create an exciting programme of events at the restaurant’s private club and to raise awareness of this hidden gem in the West End. L’Escargot has welcomed many famous faces in its 90 year history, from Sir Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud, to Princess Diana and Princess Margaret, and more contemporary stars such as Sam Smith and Adele. However, it needs to continue to drive awareness and traffic to keep up with the competitive Soho dining scene. Moreover its private Club on the top floors of the building are little known – and the restaurant wants to drive new members to join.
Working with a number of carefully selected partners, we are creating a diverse programme of events at the Club this autumn, including an exhibition of celebrity photographer John Stoddart’s work, a champagne gourmet odyssey with London Restaurant Festival and a music industry with up and coming talent in November. We are also supporting the restaurant with targeted media opportunities, including an article in the Evening Standard last week featuring L’Escargot’s owner and managing director and their call for Londoners to take more leisurely lunches.
