The Destination Summit

The Destination Summit at the London Stock Exchange, hosted by The Communication group plc, brought together over 100 senior executives from destinations of many kinds including retailers, cultural landmarks, international investment agencies and local authorities. Many overseas governments were represented, including Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain and Canada.

The high-profile speakers included the former Lord Mayor of London and Chairman of Liberty International Robert Finch, John Zerafa of the London 2012 bid and David Elliott, Chief Executive of the Royal Albert Hall.

The agenda covered many aspects of the destination debate, including the importance of nation branding, the role of architecture in creating a city image and the role of major sporting events in building international profile.

The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive and following the event our Chief Executive has been asked to speak on destinations at events around the country including the Local Government Communications Conference.
